Folks here is the good news, I have the outline of each lesson for the Apologetics series completed as of last night. I will begin “fleshing” those out this evening and have at least the first four up before next Sunday. If God is merciful, I may have them all done but we will be excited to have the first four complete before we begin the series.
I will post the outlines today so that you can begin to read the passages ahead of time.
I will tell you that we will not be using the Apostles Creed as our outline but rather the Gospel outline that we used during our Spiritual Disciplines lessons (God, Man, Christ, Response). The reasons are:
1. Apologetics is about Evangelism so why not use a familiar outline of how to evangelize. This also allows us to do two things, review with our students how to evangelize as part of the lessons and to present the gospel to them as I am sure we have some who are not redeemed and attending Bible study.
2. Each of the areas we listed are major areas that the cults distort, by focusing on these major areas we will be teaching our students to “keep the main thing, the main thing”. To not be distracted by secondary, though maybe important issues.
Finally, we will specifically address three groups / cults, Islam, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons as these three are the most visible, most aggressive and fastest growing of false religions / cults that our students will face today.
