We will be having a teachers meeting soon. We will most likely be going in a different direction for lesson plans as we begin the new year.
We will keep the website up and running and provide here some additional background material for whatever curricula we chose.
Also I will continue to work and lessons that we may use in the future, these will include some of the characteristics that we sought such as student handouts, take home devotionals to reinforce previous lessons and prepare for future lessons. This will give us the opportunity in the future to present to teachers a “Complete package” at the beginning of a series.
I posted the last apologetics lesson about 30 minutes ago. If you are having trouble opening it up then email me at email@example.com
The final apologetics lesson will be up about noon today(Saturday). We returned from out of state late last night.
Okay, there was yet another problem with the posted lesson for last week for the All in one. So, we will be teaching the Gospel Element 3 lesson on this Sunday, May 23.
I am working on a new host for the website as these problems are coming with greater frequency. I apologize for the problems. Please send me your email address so that I can begin emailing the lessons to you as a back up.
Okay Kristie Scears told me this morning that she had problems opening up the lesson plan so……
Everyone please send me your email addresses, I will not only post the lessons bit email them to you as well.
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
The website has had some problems this week. The lessons posted on Wednesday disappeared into an electronic black hole. The good news is that after some “technical support” and an opportunity to learn patience, we have the current lesson up.
We had to delete almost everything from the site but we think we have identified what cause not only this crash but the previous one as well, that means we should not have a repeat.
I apologize for the inconvenience, at last now my Blood Pressure can return to something closer to normal.
Folks here is the good news, I have the outline of each lesson for the Apologetics series completed as of last night. I will begin “fleshing” those out this evening and have at least the first four up before next Sunday. If God is merciful, I may have them all done but we will be excited to have the first four complete before we begin the series.
I will post the outlines today so that you can begin to read the passages ahead of time.
I will tell you that we will not be using the Apostles Creed as our outline but rather the Gospel outline that we used during our Spiritual Disciplines lessons (God, Man, Christ, Response). The reasons are:
1. Apologetics is about Evangelism so why not use a familiar outline of how to evangelize. This also allows us to do two things, review with our students how to evangelize as part of the lessons and to present the gospel to them as I am sure we have some who are not redeemed and attending Bible study.
2. Each of the areas we listed are major areas that the cults distort, by focusing on these major areas we will be teaching our students to “keep the main thing, the main thing”. To not be distracted by secondary, though maybe important issues.
Finally, we will specifically address three groups / cults, Islam, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons as these three are the most visible, most aggressive and fastest growing of false religions / cults that our students will face today.
